Frances (Jones) Hughes

Frances “Fran” Hughes, age 76, passed away February 29, 2024. She was born on April 5, 1947, to Thomas and Susie (nee: Mathena) Jones in Princeton, West Virginia. Fran graduated Ravenna High School in 1965 and later attended The University of Akron. Fran worked in finance as a loan officer and was a strong proponent of credit unions. She worked in security for local government and in security at Walt Disney World for 25 years. Fran was strong willed and advocated for others. She was quick to laugh out loud and up for fun including traveling, concerts, festivals, and Texas hold ‘em. She was a caring, intelligent, patient, and wise woman who lived a life of integrity. She gave of herself and was devoted to family and friends. She was a bridge builder and peacekeeper. She always had a wise thought when asked for strategy or advice and instilled a strong work ethic on others. She will be sorely missed by many.

She is survived by children, Kenneth, Tina, and Yvette (Moris); She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Fran is preceded by husband Paul and daughter Christine.

A graveside ceremony will be held on April 12, 2024, beginning at 2:30PM at Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna OH.
