Bissler & Sons has been an integral part of the Kent community since 1913, growing and changing with the times but never leaving. In 1942, the funeral home moved down the road to our current location, which has been renovated and expanded over the years to better serve our community. In 2019, Rick Bissler announced his retirement and passed the business to his long-time friends, the Billow family. Along with the Bissler name, the Billows carry on the legacy of superior care that makes Bissler & Sons the best choice for families.
Our historic facilities on Main Street echo the classic charm of Kent’s character and is just a few short blocks away from a beautiful view of the Cuyahoga River. While still maintaining the building’s history, our funeral home in Kent has undergone several updates and additions, one of which was our on-site crematory. This enables us to provide families with true peace of mind that their loved ones never leave our expert care throughout the cremation process. Though not required by the state, we require each member of our cremation team to be fully licensed and certified as Crematory Operators and Embalmers.
We are certainly proud of our facilities at Bissler & Sons, however our greatest asset is undoubtedly our dedicated staff. As part of such a close, friendly community, our staff have been able to forge deep bonds with our families and treat every one as their own. Many are Kent natives who connect with families outside the funeral home at their local churches and community events. We take great pride in being able to serve such a supportive community and are especially grateful for the families who have entrusted us with the care of their loved ones for generations.
