Dona May Hall

Dona May Hall, age 93, of Kent, died on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at KentRidge Senior Living home.

Dona was born March 11, 1926 in Kent, to Edward and Bertha (Collier) Burkhardt. She worked at a local floral shop while attending Kent State University. She was a member of the Kent United Church of Christ and a volunteer at Robinson Memorial Hospital.  She loved her Alpha Phi sorority and was a past member of Kent Coterie lll Club. Dona married Porter B. Hall in 1952, and they were longtime members of Twin Lakes Country Club where they enjoyed golf and social events with their many friends.  Along with Porter, she loved to play bridge and looked forward to their annual visits to Ft. Myers Beach, FL.  They were very proud and supportive of their beloved Kent community.

Dona is survived by daughter, Susan (David) Haren; sons, Thomas Hall and Lawrence (Dorothy) Hall; grandchildren, Lindsay (Joe) Carter, Porter (Lauren) Hall, and Corey, Troy and Rosaleigh Haren; great-grandchildren, Ella, Ava, and Lyla Carter and Morrison and Lillian Hall; nieces and nephews, Jack Conley, Jill (Paul) Barbuto, Karen (Randy) Calvert, Patty (Richard) Heerdink and Jimmy Spaetti. She was preceded in death by her husband, Porter B. Hall; brother, Robert J. Burkhardt; sisters, Ruth Marie Conley and Mary Ellen Spaetti; and daughter-in-law, Linda Hall.

The family would like to thank Aurora Rasalan and Debbie Pallay for their love, help and support for many years.  Also, special acknowledgement to KentRidge Senior Living and Kindred Hospice for their care. Dona developed many friendships while living at KentRidge. We want to thank all those friends, in particular Sue Briers, and the staff that made her life there comfortable and enjoyable.

Calling hours will be held 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Sunday, December 29, 2019 and 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Monday, December 30, 2019 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, where Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 30.  Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Kent Rotary Foundation, P.O.
