Dorothy Mae Rice

Dorothy Mae Rice, age 93, of Kent, died on September 28, 2019, at UH Kent Health Center Emergency Room.

Dorothy was born September 20, 1926, in Bellaire, to Clyde and Pearl (Wieneke) Stewart. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Kent and in Mesa, AZ.  Dorothy was a member of the Kent Women's Club and Kent Garden Club.  She was Past Matron of James A. Garfield OES #508 in Aurora, Mesa #16 OES in Mesa, AZ, and the Baa Hanii Court Order of the Amaranth in Mesa, AZ.

Recently, Dorothy had enjoyed the friendship of members at the Canfield Christian Church.

She is survived by daughter, Diana Secaur; son, Richard (Shirley Ponder) Rice; son, David A. (Margot) Rice; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rice; parents, Clyde and Pearl Stewart; brothers, Robert E. and Donald L. Stewart; sisters, Helen V. Klee and Betty J. Eaton.

Calling hours will be held 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM Monday, September 30th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 1. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Canfield Christian Church, 123 S Broad St, Canfield, OH 44406 or the First Christian Church of Kent, 335 W.
