Harold Anthony "Tony" Marksberry

Harold Anthony “Tony” Marksberry went home to be with the Lord January 13, 2020.

He was born January 9, 1954 in Covington, KY to Harold and Alma “Brownie” Marksberry.  He grew up in Warsaw, KY,where his favorite pastime was fishing the banks of the Ohio River and cruising with his buddies in their muscle cars.  He spent many years working for U.S. Steel and then for the Kent City Schools, where he made many friends.  Most important to Tony, in addition to his faith in God, was his family, friends and loved ones whom he cherished.  Tony was loved by all who knew him, and will be remembered for his huge heart, upstanding character and witty personality.  He always had a smile on his face and truly was “the best of the best”.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Alma “Brownie” Marksberry; sister, Jan Wiese; and brother, Gary Marksberry.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Bobbie Davis Marksberry; son, Jason Marksberry; daughters, Tabatha Gwen Marksberry Nelson and Sydney Marksberry; grandchildren, Taylor Petrey, Kaitlyn Bastin and Cody Marksberry; great-granddaughter, Ella Petrey; brother, Merle Marksberry; and sister, Donna Marksberry Wilson.

A gathering will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, where a Celebration of Life will follow at 8 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333.  Services in care of Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 West Main Street, Kent, OH 44240.
