James O. Starkey

James O. Starkey, age 73, of Kent, died on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 6449 Church Street.

James was born January 22, 1946 in Akron, to Hoy and Lena (Scheiller) Starkey.  Jim worked as a trim carpenter and enjoyed general construction and was an all-around handyman. He was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Eagles, social members of the Cuyahoga Falls VFW 1040 and the Cuyahoga Falls Moose. Jim loved to ride ATV's, traveling and dancing.  He loved people in general and especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by son, James (Marcia) Starkey; grandchildren, Lauren (Johnnie) Starr, Jacob Starkey, Christopher Starkey and Riley Starkey; brother, David Starkey; ex-wife, Linda Starkey; special friend and mate, Gloria Cline; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by son, Joey Starkey in 2007; parents, Hoy and Lena (Scheiller) Starkey; brother, Robert Starkey; sisters-in-law, Rita Starkey and Barb Starkey; and nephews, David Graham and Bobby Starkey.
