Joan Cronbaugh Obituary
Joan C. Cronbaugh, age 95, of Kent, OH, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on January 20, 2019.
Born on March 9, 1923 to William and Helen McInerney, Joan graduated from High School in her hometown of Midland, PA. She was a graduate of Temple University Business School in Philadelphia, PA, and the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, PA with a Registered Nurse designation.
Joan served as a 2nd Lt in the Army Nurse Corp during WWII. She was an Air Force wife for 13 years of R.W. Sebring, deceased. In 1960, she settled in Kent, OH. In 1966 she began her 52 ½ years of marriage to Clarence Cronbaugh. She was the office nurse for Dr. Tony Adamle for 13 years, did home nursing for 10 years, and was the loving mother of 7 children, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She is survived by her husband Clarence Cronbaugh of Kent, OH, her daughters, Patricia (Paul) Sebring Welch of Kent, OH, Joan (Kent) Sebring Hein of Bowling Green, FL; her sons, David (Mary) Sebring of Lamar, MS, Philip (Sindy) Sebring of Toccoa, GA, Brian (Cheryl) Cronbaugh of Shelby, OH and Brad (Sara) Cronbaugh of Kent, OH. Her son Bruce Cronbaugh preceded her in death due to leukemia.
Please join the family for calling hours from 2:00pm - 3:00pm on February 2nd, 2019, at Grace Baptist Church, in Kent, OH, where Joan was a long-time member. The Memorial service will follow at 3:00pm. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in East Liverpool, OH, at a later date.
Thank you to the University Hospitals Hospice and Hospice of Western Reserve and all the friends and family who shared in her home-based care, especially in the last year of being homebound.
