Jon Kirt Obituary
Jon M. Kirt, age 62, of Kent, died on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at home.
Jon was born in Akron, March 28, 1956. He graduated from Tallmadge High School class of 1974, where he excelled in sports. He had a great sense of humor and love for cats, which he took care of many over the years. He was employed as a roofer for many years and was proud of his work.
He is survived by sisters, Karen Cooper of Charleston, SC, and Anna Kirtiklis New York, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Edward Kirt; mother Mary Lou Richmond; brother, James Kirt.
The family wants to extend heartfelt gratitude to the members of AA who helped him over the years and let them know that he was sober when he passed.
A memorial service will be held at the Akron Bible Church at a later date. He will be laid to rest next to his mother, Mary Lou at Oakwood Cemetery.
