It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Aaron Lee Ruggles on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the age of 55.
Aaron is lovingly remembered by his son, Aidan; his parents, Cathy and David Tribuzzo; his siblings, Jason (Cindy), Nathan (Michelle), Gina (Jason), and David (Tara); Jeniffer Ruggles (Aidan's mother); and his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Ruggles Jr.
Aaron served in the United States Navy, stationed on the USS Ranger during Operation Desert Storm during the Persian Gulf War. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and an admired member of the Kent community. His generous spirit, kind heart, and infectious smile and laugh touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
For more than two decades, Aaron was the heart behind Bistro on Main in Kent. Since opening the restaurant in 2003, he shared his passion for cooking through memorable meals that brought people together and became a treasured part of the community. Whether crafting a new dish or welcoming guests through the doors, Aaron poured his heart into everything he created.
Outside the kitchen, Aaron found joy in life's adventures. He loved spending time with his son, family, and friends, and embraced every opportunity to be outdoors; mountain biking, kayaking, skydiving and snowboarding were some of his favorite activities. He also had a deep appreciation for art, live music, plants and the simple moments that made life meaningful.
Aaron leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories filled with laughter, generosity, and unconditional love. His warmth, compassion, and ability to make others feel at home will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that his love, his spirit, and the countless lives he touched will continue to live on. Aaron will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 1:00PM at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00AM-1:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Aaron's life and share their memories. Following the service, all who knew and loved Aaron are warmly invited to gather for a luncheon at Bistro on Main at 2:00PM.
In Aaron's honor, in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Kelly's Grief Center and Kent Social Services.
