Alan P. Lemon

Shalersville, OH- Alan P. Lemon, 84yrs old, passed away peacefully at Longmeadow Nursing Home in Ravenna, OH. He was with his daughter Alanna (Lemon) Weisend and grandson Gordon Weisend by his side as he took his final breath on Friday September 18th at 10:30am.

Alan was born on November 2, 1941 to Jay and Thelma (Richardson) Lemon in Brady Lake, OH.

Alan was preceded in death by his father Jay Lemon Sr., and mother Thelma P (Richardson) Lemon. Alan was the lone youngest surviving sibling to his three brothers, John Lemon, Jay Lemon Jr., Robert Lemon, and a stillborn sister Carol Ruth Lemon.

Alan is survived by his daughter Alanna (Lemon) Weisend; son Michael P. Lemon; stepson Michael Hills; and stepdaughter Gabbrielle (McCune) Harrington; five grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews, whom he loved.

Alan worked for Ametek Lamb Electric in Kent, OH for 40 years as an Electric Motor Repairman, retiring in 2004. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. Some of his fondest memories were when he traveled every fall to Killbuck, OH with his brothers to hunt squirrels, rabbits, and white tail deer. Alan also loved reminiscing with his classmates from Ravenna Township High School class of 1959 at the many reunions over the years. He was a history buff and enjoyed discussing Lemon family history, the history of Brady Lake, Kent, Ravenna, his childhood years living in the Ravenna Arsenal, and Windham projects.

In honoring his wishes, Alan will be cremated and a celebration of life ceremony will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org.
