Amy Joy Knott, a lifelong resident of Ravenna, was born July 8, 1977, and passed away on February 2, 2026, following a courageous journey with a stage 4 glioblastoma. Throughout her life, Amy faced every challenge with quiet strength, grace, and an unwavering concern for others.
Amy was a kind and gentle soul who consistently looked for ways to serve and uplift those around her. Her compassion was not only something she felt, it was something she lived. Whether caring for family, supporting children, advocating for individuals with disabilities, or helping anyone in need, Amy gave of herself freely and selflessly.
For 19 years, Amy served as an independent provider with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. In this role, she opened her home and her heart, welcoming individuals with disabilities to live with her and caring for them as family. Her work was more than a career, it was a calling, and the lives she touched will forever reflect her dedication, patience, and love.
Amy found her greatest joy in becoming “Gram” to her grandchildren, Violet O’Neal and Kane Knott, a role she cherished deeply. She loved gathering with others, cooking meals that brought people together, celebrating life with a good party, and yes—she had a true love for shopping. Above all, Amy delighted in being surrounded by those she loved.
She is survived by her parents, Bob and Marsha Thomas; her son, Mark (Macenzie) Knott; her daughter, Leah (Andrew) O’Neal; her brother, Dale (Rachel) Thomas; and her sister, Angie Christy. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews: Cade, Zander and Mazie Thomas, Benjamin and Allison Barnette and Abbie Christy; and her great niece Alayna Sales, all of whom brought her great pride and joy.
Amy is reunited in peace with her grandparents and with her cherished fur daughter, Chloe, whom she loved dearly.
