Bud E. Rogers

Bud Rogers, age 96, of Kent, OH, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Ohman Family Living at Briar.

Bud was born June 21, 1929 in Akron, OH to the late Eldridge and Opal (Bush) Rogers.

Bud grew up in Springfield Township, Ohio, working for Goodyear Aerospace for 30 years.

Beginning in 1956 he then spent his summers oh his boat on Kentucky Lake, Kentucky, maintaining an abandoned beach, later to become known as “Buds Beach”, a place for boaters to gather, socialize and have cookouts, continuing each year for an amazing 70 years and at least 3 generations of boaters. The name Bud Rogers has become a legend in that area.

Quick to make you feel warm and welcome, and a master joke and storyteller, his name will be cherished and will live on in the hearts of all who was fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Rogers, and Lois Such; stepchildren, Alan, and Karen Stewart, many additional family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be held 11:30 PM – 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. Funeral services will be held Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, with Kevin O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Funeral Services at Bissler & Sons will have a Facebook livestream, Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory | Kent OH | Facebook. Service will be live ten minutes prior to service start at 1:00 PM.
