Dennis "Mike" Coble

Dennis Michael “Mike” Coble, 81, of Stow, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Western Reserve Hospital. He was born in Lancaster, PA to the late Walter and Rose Coble and was a graduate of West Virginia University. He went on to earn his master’s degree in public administration from Cleveland State University. Mike was employed as the superintendent of the Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities for 23 years, retiring in 2000.

Mike was very much a family man. Nothing meant more to him than the time he spent with his family. He will be deeply missed and always remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Coble on April 5, 2022; and his brothers Ronnie and Terry Coble.

Mike leaves his children, Chris (Erin) Coble, Sarah Coble and Jenny Coble; stepchildren, Julie (David) Phillips and Rob (Karyn) Young; grandchildren, Finnigan, Mallory, Brett, Anthony, Bradley, Jacob, Dylan, Alex, Josh and Sydney; many great grandchildren and special in-laws Deane and Terri.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at 11:00AM at St. Katharine Drexel Parish at St. Patrick Church, 313 N. Depeyster St. Kent, OH 44240, with the Rev. Fr. Kevin Bertleff as Celebrant.
