Donald L. Swauger

Donald L. Swauger, 88, of Kent, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at UH Portage Medical Center. He was born in Kent on December 30, 1936 to the late Robert and Nellie Swauger and was a 1956 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School.

Donald was employed as a machinist with Eaton Corporation for several years and was a member of First Christian Church of Ravenna. He volunteered extensively with Brimfield Food Cupboard and Kent Social Services and enjoyed doing yardwork. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife Margaret on November 26, 2022; his daughter-in-law Jeanette Swauger; brothers Bruce and Lloyd “Leonard” Swauger and his sister Alice Pearce.

He leaves his sons, Gary (Laura) Swauger, Russell Swauger, Michael (Patricia) Swauger and Jeff (Leslie) Swauger; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 4:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-4:00PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in his name, to the American Cancer Society.
