Emma L. Reed, 88, of Kent, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls.
She was born August 10, 1929 in Kent to Arthur C. and Mildred E. (Wehl) Koerner. She loved to cook, nurture, and feed family and friends.
She is survived by son, Robert Hursell of Arizona; daughters, Victoria Ciarcia of Kent, Cheryl (Jim) Cone of Kent and Terri (Daniel) Brunswick of Kent; grandchildren, Michael (Alison) Cone, Celia Cone, Lacey McLaughlin, Nicole Hill, Kelly (Samantha) Brunswick, and Corey Brunswick; great grandchildren, Paige, Connor, Camryn, Portia, Gavin, Wyatt, Everett, Lukas, Jordan, Sihlas, and Kenzie; very special sister-in-law, Judy (Bob) VonStein; special niece, JoAnne (John) Robertson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert F. Strayer who died in 1952; siblings, Walter E. Koerner, Arthur P. Koerner, Mary I. Kelly, Lucille M. Randall, and Estella C. Keeton.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, April 26th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Private funeral services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Freedom House for Veterans (Kent, Ohio), 705 Oakwood Street, Ravenna, OH 44266.
