Frances Irene Austin, age 88, of Streetsboro, OH, passed away on
Saturday, July 5, 2025 at The Gardens at Liberty Park.
Frances was born July 15, 1936 in Weston, WV to the late Earl and Wanemia (Bird) Metz.
Frances was known as “Maw” by all who met her, both family and friends. She spent a majority of her life serving the elderly with compassionate care. Frances loved church, family, friends, flowers, music, motorcycles, Cleveland Indians and children – greeting each that she met at the local stores she frequented. Her famous expression was “Cold Hands, Warm Heart, Dirty Feet, No Sweet Heart.”
She is survived by daughters, Cathy Murton, Jamie (Dave) Hall, Melissa (Mark) Blaha; son, Carl (Sally) Singleton Jr.; 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mike, Bill and Sonny; sister, Clair Ann; first husband Carl “Mean Pap-Pap” Singleton, second husband, Charles “Pap-Pap” Austin; sons, Russell Singleton, Mark Singleton; daughter, Wanemia (Anthony “Gump”) Fulst; grandson, Mark Singleton Jr; great-grandson, Dallas Hall.
Calling hours will be held 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM Friday, July 11, 2025 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St Kent, OH 44240. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Virgil officiating.
