Gary Lee Ohler

Like a familiar melody carried on well-worn strings, Gary lee Ohler moved through life in his own unmistakable way, steady, solitary, and true to himself. Gary died on November 5, 2026, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, at the age of 72.

Gary was born July 28, 1954 in Ravenna, OH to the late Clarence and Anna (Koffman) Ohler.

Gary spent his working life as a machinist, shaping metal with practiced hands and quiet dedication. He retired from Bearing Engineered Solutions in Akron after a lifelong career in the trade. The precision of his work reflected a life lived with a certain fixed rhythm, one that those who knew him recognized immediately.

At home and in the hearts of those around him, Gary was remembered as a curmudgeonly old guy, a loner, and someone set in his ways. He carried that identity plainly and honestly. Yet alongside that rugged independence was a constant companion: his guitar. His guitar was always his best friend, and in its strings, there was a voice for the moments that words did not hold.

Gary leaves behind his wife, Cindy Allen Ohler; his daughter, Coby Bender; his sons, Gary (Lisa) Ohler and Ben (Sarah) Ohler; and his grandchildren, Grace, Tristan, Brayden, Keston, Kaedyn, and Alayna. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Hunter.

Gary's life was not one of ornament, but of substance-marked by work, by habit, by music, and by a nature that never pretended to be anything other than what it was. In the echo of a guitar and the memory of a life firmly lived on his own terms.
