James "Jim" Klohn, 92 of Stow, died Saturday, December 6. 2025. He was born August 6, 1933 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Arthur and Magaret (Petley) Klohn.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Donna, as well as his children James A. Klohn and Virginia Klohn.
He is survived by his children, Cindy Svoboda, Rebecca Wert, Carol Klohn (David Nolin), and his grandchildren: Vicki Martin, Polli Svoboda, Joe Svoboda, Samantha Hicks, Max Nolin, and Abigail Nolin. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
Jim graduated from Ravenna Township school in 1951 and directly enlisted in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Following his service, he attended Kent State University, where he earned an associate degree in Political Science.
In his youth, Jim played his cornet in the Ravenna Township band, dance bands, and later the Kent State University band. He was also an exceptional harmonica player! Later in life, one of his favorite pastimes was playing poker with his friends.
Jim was a proud 60-year member of Unity Lodge # 12 (Ravenna), 25th Masonic District of the Grand Lodge of F & AM of Ohio.
Jim aka "Boss Man" will be most remembered as the owner of Holiday Sands, a summer recreational business in Ravenna township that he operated for forty years.
There will be a private graveside service at a later date. Donations can be made in Jim’s memory to Heartland Hospice of Akron or to The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System.
