Listen to Obituary

Janet Bissler, 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Danbury Assisted Living in Tallmadge Ohio.

Janet was a country girl who was born and raised in Stow, Ohio. She was the baby sister of three brothers who watched over and protected her throughout her childhood. Growing up she was surrounded by love, laughter and adventure. She loved all animals. In high school she was a cheerleader, queen of the Snowball Dance and liked hanging out at the Tip Top with her friends. And then, “Dude” came along. The love of her life! They married on September 3, 1955, at St. Patrick’s Church in Kent and built a legacy of love and devotion that lasted 70 years.

Blessed with five children, that kept her running in many different directions, Janet always made sure that God and family came first. Her deep faith was a foundation she built her life upon. She worked alongside her husband, Dude, at Orbit Mold, running the office and ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Some say she really was the boss. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends, playing tennis and watching the children grow and start families of their own. Janet and Dude retired from Orbit Mold in 1999. They bought a home in Florida where she loved welcoming in family and friends to spend time and make wonderful memories for all. She and Dude spent many hours on bleachers or in auditoriums watching and cheering on their grandchildren in all their endeavors, from sports to concerts.

Janet was a warm and welcoming person, always kind to everyone she encountered. She was deeply compassionate, and always ready to lend a helping hand. There was always room at the table and plenty to share.

She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley G and Flora E (Luff) Crosier, brothers Stanley A. Crosier, James L. Crosier, and Paul E. Crosier. On June 10th, 2025 she lost her beloved husband, David M. Bissler.

Survived by her children, Denise (Ted) Evans, Debbie (Smokey) Beitzel, Donna (Jim) Ward, Dave (Kathy) Bissler and Doreen (Danny) Madonio; twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
