John J.A. Verthé

John J.A. Verthé, 78, of Kent, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025. He was born in Brussels, Belgium on April 21, 1947 to the late Jules and Blanche Verthé. John received his education in Brussels prior to coming to the United States. Once here, he earned his master’s degree in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Akron. John was employed as a compounder with Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 53 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Janet Verthé on January 13, 2024.

John leaves his son Justin (Angela) Verthé; daughter Jessica (Jeremy) Kest; grandchildren, James, Jocelyn and Annabella; and his aunt Anny Deconinck.

In honoring his wishes, John will be cremated and laid to rest at Standing Rock Cemetery with his wife Janet.
