Kimberly R. Beck-Banks

Kimberly R. Beck-Banks, age 58, of Kent, OH, died on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at University Hospital of Cleveland.

Kimberly was born July 14, 1968, in Akron, OH to the late Howard Beck and Shirley (Haggerty) Oblak.

Kimberly grew up in Kent and graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School. She was a total rink rat, spending most of her time at Moon-Glo Roller Rink. She worked as a dog groomer for many years and in inventory, and she did a little bit of everything along the way, but mostly she was a homemaker. She had an absolute heart of gold. She would bring anybody into her home, and whether she had known you for a minute or a lifetime, she respected you like the human you are. She taught her kids that there is strength in kindness, and she always tried to find the positive in things.

She was funny, always making jokes and trying to get a laugh or a smile out of you. Her pride in her children was unmatched. She was a literal light, and she will be missed by everyone she touched.

She is survived by her children, Aydan Ferris, Zachary Mangus, Owen Hume, and Gracie Banks; sister, Tonya Beck; brother, Eric Beck; stepchildren, Shannon Murphy and Kenzie Hupp; and her partner of over 16 years, Tim Gilliland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Banks; and her parents.

Celebration of Life will be at later date. Cremation will follow at Bissler & Sons Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family’s GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/42d3638ab.
