Listen to Obituary

Kreigh Sheridan Grapel-Barnette was born March 2, 2000. Her time on earth ended September 27, 2026.

She packed tremendous life into her 26 years and leaves family and friends with the imprint of her love and vitality. Kreigh loved music, art, collecting little found objects, animals, talking with children, fashion, learning and researching something to the origin, cinema and creating recipes. She had not repeated an outfit since Sophomore year of high school. She was known for being fun, thoughtful, and a critical thinker. She had a dark sense of humor and also a hope in her heart for a better future for everyone. Kreigh collected people the way other kids collected stickers, and she almost never lost one. She told the truth, she made it funny, and she made sure the person on the other end knew they mattered.

She leaves behind her parents, Kristopher and Tangela Barnette; sister, Sydnie Barnette (John Kuder); brother, Mattox Barnette; grandparents, Arnold and Karen Barnette; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will hold her memory close to their hearts as they walk forward in life.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Rose McQuaide; aunt, Tiffany Redeker; uncle, Jack Rose; and aunt, Linda Smith.

Kreigh had aspirations of becoming an archivist. In her jobs as a record store manager at Hollow Bone records and Archival Assistant at Kent State University, she carefully collected, appraised, organized, preserved, and provided public access to historically valuable documents, records, and digital media. In this vein, Kreigh’s father has started a biographical archive. You can access it here: www.kreigh.com.

There will be a celebration of life Sunday, November 1, 2026. Please visit www.kreigh.com for time and additional info.
