Mark "Ogre" R. Lepper

November 25, 1949 — April 10, 2025

Kent

Mark "Ogre" R. Lepper, age 75, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, April 10th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A 1967 graduate of Tallmadge High School and longtime resident of Tallmadge, Mark most recently made his home in Kent. He was a founding family member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Known for his calming presence and genuine kindness, he was liked by all who knew him.

Mark retired from NEOUCOM after 35 years of dedicated service. In retirement, he found a second home at Sunny Hill Golf Course, where he enjoyed both working and playing. Whether tossing a frisbee or playing softball, Mark’s love of sports and the outdoors stayed with him throughout his life. Each morning you could find him drinking coffee and enjoying his daily crossword puzzle surely with a dictionary at his side. Local birds knew his yard as the go-to spot for a full feeder and a peaceful perch. He was also an avid reader, with shelves of well-loved books throughout their home, and a passionate music lover who curated an impressive vinyl collection over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Mary Lepper. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanie; children, Seth (Lorrie) Lepper, Sarah (Matt) Fairhurst, Ryan (Brittany) Paparone, and his loyal companion “best buddy boy” Emmit; proud Papa to Casey (Jessica), Chris, Rob, Rose, Ethan, Caleb, Liam, Basil, Addison, Nicholas, and Benjamin; brothers, Larry (Barb) Lepper, Brad (Karen) Lepper; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mark could fix anything and was always willing to lend a hand, whether it was repairing something around the house, correcting a baseball swing, or helping a friend in need. He loved supporting his kids and grandkids in all their endeavors—whether it was on the field, in the classroom, or anywhere in between. If you were lucky, you got to taste his famous “cheese dip,” a special treat and a true crowd favorite if you could handle the heat!.

Mark’s gentle spirit, sense of humor, and love for his family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
