Mary LaVerne (Garden) Polack

LaVerne was born August 25, 1921 to David Nelson & Agnes (Hosenfeld) Garden in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio. She attended Martin’s Ferry HS and married Joseph M Polack, who she met at an USO event. She raised 3 sons and was a dedicated housewife, she was always very active and had many interests. Including bowling, square dancing, camping, cards, reading and traveling. She was a devoted Catholic and participated in many church activities.

She is survived by Sons, Joseph (Jean), Gary (Karen W), and Nelson (Cindy); Grandchildren, Ryan (Anna), Matt (Ave), Cody (Claire), Evan and Evelyn; 5 Great grandchildren, and 2 Great great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Sunday, October 18 from 2-4pm at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 19 at 11 am at St Patrick’s Church, with burial to follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
