Maureen A. Mahoney

Maureen A Mahoney, age 89, of Kent, OH, and formerly of Painesville Township, died peacefully on July 6th, 2026. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on June 6th, 1937 to parents George and Elizabeth Mahoney (nee Mayer).

Maureen was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kent. She enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Caterpillar, retiring from Caterpillar in 1992. In her free time, she was an avid reader and could be found at the public library checking out new books every week.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Elizabeth Mahoney; brothers, Ralph, Earl, and Ronald; sister, Dolores; and niece, Denice (Frank) Iacano. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Schaaf; grandson, Luke Schaaf, nieces and nephews, Deborah Johnson, Robert, Michael, Patrick, Ronald, Earl David and Craig Mahoney.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M. THURSDAY July 9th, 2026 at St. Katherine Drexel Parish - St. Patrick Church, 313 N. Depeyster St. Kent, OH 44240, with Rev. Fr. John Rovnak as celebrant. Interment to follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Maureen’s name may be made to St. Katherine Drexel Parish.
