Listen to Obituary

On Thursday May 28, 2026, Michelle (Spain) Eynon died unexpectantly at University Hospitals in Cleveland from complications of undiagnosed aggressive acute Leukemia.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Eynon; daughter, Claire, and son, Jack; her parents, Jean and Robert Spain; mother-in-law, Patricia Eynon, father-in-law, Timothy Eynon, and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Eynon.

It is impossible to describe the fullness of Michelle’s life. Everyone who knew her has been impacted by her love, wisdom, and confidence.

She was born October 13, 1977 to Jean and Robert Spain and raised in Rootstown where she graduated high school in 1996. She attended Kent State University where she graduated with a Masters in Education. She excelled in biology, physics, and sign language. Her desire was to teach, and she found her place at Tallmadge High School.

When she met Joseph Eynon, they spent their first date talking for hours. They were married on July 21, 2012 and built a life and family together. They supported each other in their professional careers and had a mutual respect for excellence in everything they pursued. They enjoyed hiking trips and vacations at the beach.

She showed her love to her family through the delicious meals she made, the costumes she created, and the creative cakes she baked and decorated. Michelle enjoyed watching her daughter Claire’s school play production and choir concerts and her son Jack’s baseball games. Anyone walking into their home saw the fun of their daily lives – Legos, crafts, baseball mitts, artwork, and Joe’s creative handiwork. She loved to sing and laugh and cuddle.

Michelle and her family lived in their dream lake community. They enjoyed friendships with kind and generous neighbors.

While at Kent State University, she met her lifelong friends whom she treated to her spectacular vacation planning ability. They will forever keep in their hearts the afternoons on the beach and the sunset dinner at Fager’s Island.

She will be remembered by her students for her enthusiasm for science and her compassion for them. Her warm presence offered them a safe space. She had a passion for teaching, but her true calling was knowing and encouraging each student personally. She frequently shared with family and friends the rich interactions with her colleagues and students.

She is a vibrant and bold thread that weaves together all of those she leaves behind.

Michelle will be remembered in a Celebration of Life at Tallmadge High School, 140 North Munroe Rd., Tallmadge, OH 44278, on FRIDAY, July 24 with Visiting Hours from 4-7 pm and a Memorial Service at 7 pm.
