Noreen Elaine Miller, age 82, of Ravenna, OH, passed away on Wednesday, June 3,2026 at University Hospital of Cleveland.
Noreen was born April 5, 1944 in Cleveland, OH to the late Raymond and Arlene (Wrase) Lahl.
She is survived by her husband, James Miller; daughter Elizabeth (Miller) Niemoeller; brother John Lahl; sister-in-law Phyllis (Kerns) Lahl; niece Meridth (Lahl) Fox; brother-in-law Thomas Miller, brother-in-law Gerald Miller, and nephews Jeffery and Bradley Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother James Lahl, sister-in-law Karen (Prinz) Lahl, sister-in-law Carol (Miller) Novak, and sister-in-law Geraldine (Orlando) Miller.
As a youth she was very interested in art, and won a national award for a clay sculpture. After high school she enrolled at Kent State University (KSU), graduating with a BS-Math degree. She met James during classes at KSU, and were married following graduation. After college, she was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber as a computer programmer for many years. As her daughter Elizabeth was growing up, and active with Girl Scouts, Irish Step Dancing, and gymnastics, Noreen was very involved supporting and assisting. When Noreen retired, she returned to her love of art, enrolling as a Senior Guest student at KSU, with classes in jewelry, pottery, silkscreen printing, and many other subjects. As a skilled artist, she exhibited at many North East Ohio art shows, most often at the annual Kent Art In The Park show. Noreen also enjoyed listening to music - classical, Celtic, folk. She accompanied James to many folk music festivals, KSU performances, and listened to music & news on local Public Radio (NPR) stations: WKSU, WCLV, and WYSU.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Per her wishes cremation has occurred at Bissler & Sons Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kent State University Art or Music departments; or to the Public Radio station of your choosing.
