Robert E. Moledor, age 87, of Randolph, OH, died on Sunday, November 1, 2026 after a short hospital stay.
Robert was born August 15, 1939 in Randolph, OH to the late John and Helen (Bauer) Moledor.
Bob or Bobby as many people called him was a simple man who didn’t care much for flashy or expensive things. He grew up poor and without hot running water or an inside toilet until 1960. He lived at the same address in Randolph almost his entire life only moving twice to new houses he built on either side of the same property. He was always involved in the goings on in Randolph after graduating a Tiger in 1957, including helping with basketball at the school, being a charter member of zoning and later on the board of appeals for many years. He was also a proud member of the Randolph Lions Club, where he was reluctantly President only once during his 50 years. In the earlier years the family hosted softball games on the property on Shaffer road which were great fun. Later in life he enjoyed building projects whether it be a job for a customer or something for family and friends. He worked at the Schumacher Lumber company in Hartville for many years and when he retired from carpentry he helped with burials at St. Joseph Cemetery. Besides working he liked playing cards and dominoes. He enjoyed going on trips to Holden Beach, NC with various family and friends even though he was deathly afraid of water. He also enjoyed trips to Indiana to visit his high school friend Jim Houck and his family. The last 5 years were particularly hard for Bob as he was no longer able to enjoy many of his hobbies but he was able to stay in his house, with a lot of help, until only a few weeks ago. He will be missed!
He is survived by his son, John (Tricia) Moledor and grandchildren Hudson and Ella, stepson Joe (Jacque); brother David (Joan); nieces and nephews Mark Howard (Rossetta), Lisa, Brian, and Jill. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Ann Howard (Don) & Catherine Liegl; brother, Andrew.
