Robert J. Speer

Robert J. Speer, 63, of Ravenna, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Summa Hospital in Akron, Ohio after several months of failing health. He was born on October 22, 1962 in Stuttgart, Germany to Helene and the late Joseph Speer.

Bob grew up in Tallmadge, Ohio where he was an All-State baseball player in high school. He was a CNC machinist and mold maker his entire life working primarily at his family's machine shop, Diamond Mold and Die Inc. He was an avid Cleveland and Ohio State sports fanatic. He enjoyed cooking, softball, golfing, camping, and especially fishing.

Survivors include his companion of 18 years, Shirley Hughes; sons Zachary (Natalie) Speer and Tyler (Malia) Speer; grandson Rowan Speer; his mother Helene Speer; sisters Silvia (Steve) Schaefer and Corinna (Dave) Phillips; brother Rick (Nikki) Speer; brothers-in-law Ray (Denise) Hughes, Mike (Vickie) Hughes, and Jeff (Jill) Hughes; and many nieces and nephews.

In honoring Bob's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services. In remembrance, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
