Sandra J. Shilling

Sandra Joann Shilling, age 82, of Kent, OH, died on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Falls Village Skilled Nursing and Rehab.

Sandra was born August 31, 1943 in Columbus, OH, to the late George and Beatrice (Winchell) Smith.

She was a graduate of Ohio State University and worked as a teacher but her proudest accomplishment was being a mother. She loved contributing to her church and spending time with friends and family. She rarely missed a family gathering and enthusiastically gave meaningful and unique gifts to her grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a deep, independent thinker and a great conversationalist.

She is survived by her sons, Erik Shilling, and Chris Shilling; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Bill Wise; nieces, Tiffany Fedor, Aimee Evans, and Elizabeth Wise; nephew, Jeff Wise; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Shilling, and parents.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 1:30 P.M. followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. at Riverwood Chapel, 1407 Fairchild Ave. Kent, OH 44240, to which memorials may also be made.
