Sandy L. Fultz

Sandy L. Fultz, age 80, of Kent, OH, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Sandy was born August 19, 1945 in Salem, OH to the late Richard and Doris (Sprowl) Liebhart.

She was a graduate of United Local High School where she was salutatorian of the Class of 1963, and a graduate of Kent State University (1967).

Sandy met and married the love of her life, John Fultz, when she became a teacher at Franklin Elementary in Kent. They were co-teachers of the 6th grade class. She taught there for more than 30 years before retiring. Sandy and John shared their lives with many students over those years. These students truly were "their kids" and they loved them all. Teaching and connecting with students was her life’s passion; she continued to cross paths with former students to present day and it never failed to bring her abundant pride and joy.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Liebhart Quinn of Fairfield CT, niece Pam (Larry) Woods of New Franklin OH, niece Caitlin Quinn of San Francisco CA, nephew Brendan Quinn of Washington DC, and many more nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John Fultz, and parents Richard and Doris (Sprowl) Liebhart.

Per Sandy's wishes, there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations the elementary school scholarship fund at Kent City Schools in memory of Sandy Fultz, elementary schools.
