Sharon L. Hall, of Akron, Ohio, passed away tragically on October 27, 2025, in a house fire that also claimed the life of her son, Zachary.

Sharon was born on November 20, 1961, in Ohio. She attended the University of Akron from 1990 to 1994, earning a B.A. in Geography and Urban Planning, and later earned an Arborist Certification. Sharon worked at Mactac in Stow, Ohio as a Specialty Products Manager. She was retired and enjoying her new earned freedoms.

Sharon’s zest for life and her desire to share the warmth and light in her heart could be felt immediately upon meeting her. Her straightforward approach to what she was thinking left no doubt that you had a cherished friend for life.

She was happiest when she was outdoors or spending time with family and friends. She loved gardening, hiking, kayaking, and attending as many music concerts as she could find. Her love of music was boundless; any song you could play, she could and would dance to it. Sharon’s bright light and laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sharon and her son Zachary faced many challenges in life but emerged from each one stronger, wiser, and more resilient. Like the “phoenix” they were lifted from darkness into light and lived life to the fullest.

Sharon is survived by her sisters, Diane R. (James) Hall Nigh and Theresa A. (Steve) Hall Petersen; her brother, Daniel R. (Christine) Hall; her stepsisters, Nina M. (Jim) Ballis Goodlet, BethAnn (James) Ballis Tribelhorn, Scharlotte H. (John) Ballis Medhurst; and her stepbrothers, David M. Ballis and James W. Ballis.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kati Marie Cody; son Zachary Joseph Cody; mother, Ruth D. (James) Hannan Hall Ballis; her father, William P. (Wilda) Hall; her sisters, Janice M. (Earl) Hall Davis Hogan and Marie C. (Rodney) Hall Yates; her brother William J. Hall and her stepbrother, Stephen M. Ballis.

In honoring her wishes, Sharon was cremated, and an outdoor celebration of life will be held for Sharon and her son in the summer of 2026. The family hopes this gathering will offer closure and will be filled with shared stories, love and hugs on a bright, sunny day.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that charitable donations be made to Riggi Rescue (animal rescue), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported entirely by volunteers and donations. Contributions may be made online at www.riggirescue.org, via Venmo @riggirescue, CashApp $Riggirescue.

Cremation services are in the care of Bissler and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.
