Shirley Mae Hughes, 79, of Kent, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at her home.
She was born June 12, 1932 in Lansing, MI to Orley J. and Carolyne E. (Clute) Weldon. She attended The Water Street Church and assisted with their gardens.
She is survived by sons, Joe (Janet) Swaney of Kent, Michael (Diane) Swaney of Mogadore, and Charles Fife of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Mikey Swaney, Joseph Swaney, Raymond Swaney III, Amanda Swaney, Allen Swaney, Matthew Swaney, and Charles Fife Jr.; great grandson, Joshua Swaney; and sister, Margie Shipley of Westland, MI. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynda Fife In 1975, sons, Raymond E. Swaney II in 2004 and Tracy Swaney in 1999; sister, Marie Shaffer; and brother, Bob Weldon.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 1st at the Water Street Church with Pastor Denny Fox officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Water Street Church, 1541 S. Water Street, Kent, OH 44240.
