Alan Frietchen

Alan Frietchen, age 74, of Ravenna, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 12, 2022.

Alan was born July 27, 1948, in Cleveland, OH to the late George and Alfa (Paterline) Frietchen. Alan graduated Euclid Senior High in 1968. After that, he enlisted into the U.S. Army, served in the Vietnam War, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Army Commendation medal for heroism in action. Alan was a devoted and loving father and grandfather and is leaving behind him a legacy of love.

He is survived by his children, Tammy and Alan; grandchildren, Erin (Alex), Karec (Kaitlyn), and Blake; Great-Grandchild, Conor; and siblings, Glenn (Rose), Donna (Hugh), and Laina (Don). He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, George.

Services will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 1:15 PM on November 28, 2022. Memorial may be made to Freedom House Kent, a transitional housing facility for homeless Veterans.
