Austin J. Covey

Austin Jeffrey Covey, 23, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at home in Hiram, Ohio. He was born in Akron, OH on August 16, 1997 to Patrick and Tracy (Feller) Covey.

He was preceded in death by his Uncle Mike Feller, Grandmother Patricia (Stoikes) Feller and Grandfather Glen Covey.

Survivors include his father Patrick Covey and his mother Tracy (Feller) Covey; his loving brothers Tyler and Carson Covey, his grandmother Judy Covey and grandfather Walter Feller; many cousins, Aunts and Uncles.

Austin grew up in the country in Garrettsville, OH and went to school at James A Garfield.  Austin, his brothers, and friends spent many hours swimming and fishing in his family’s pond.  Austin loved playing sports, most notably baseball and his true love football.  Austin was a standout linebacker for the high school team winning 1st team All PTC Conference Honors his junior and senior years. 

After high school, Austin went to Michigan State University where he was an outstanding student.  He studied much more than he did in high school and was rewarded with excellent grades.  Austin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and was currently completing his requirements to sit for the CPA.  Austin interned at Davey Tree for two summers in preparation for a career in accounting and has many found memories of that experience.

Austin was the most amazing person imaginable.  He was a devoted son, a loving brother, and a loyal friend to many.  Austin was the most polite and grateful child.  He would always thank you profusely for providing a meal for him.  Austin was an accomplished cook.  He was always in charge of cooking the turkey at his family’s Thanksgiving feast, and the lobster tails on Christmas and New Year’s.  Austin was also very handy around the house and always lent his mother a helping hand.  He would have made an exceptional husband to a lucky woman.

Austin enjoyed playing video games, snowboarding, watching his beloved Badgers, Spartans and Packers, and taking his annual family trip to Myrtle Beach.  Austin was a sensitive and private person.  He loved animals and enjoyed taking care of his 5 dogs.  Austin had all the redeeming personality traits that you want in a person.  He was truly beautiful inside and out. Words cannot express how much Austin was loved and will be missed forever by his family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Bissler and Sons in Kent.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to The Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
