David Wesley Wright

David Wesley Wright, age 68, of Kent, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2022, with his family by his side.

He was born April 3, 1954, in Hammond, IN; son of the late Glenn W. and Helen (nee Scheetz) Wright. David graduated from Stow High School. He was a hardworking union carpenter. He was very proud of his career, as his father, brothers and nephews are also carpenters.

He loved music and listened to it often. Throughout his life, David also enjoyed motorcycles, playing pool, and golfing. After retirement, David was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He had a knack for learning anything he put his mind to. He also canned the vegetables that he grew in his garden. David was an exceptional cook and loved working in the kitchen.

He enjoyed unique trinkets and knickknacks and especially enjoyed learning how they worked. David was the most thoughtful, caring, and generous man you could meet. He wanted to be sure the people that he cared about were taken care of. He always made a point to make the people around him feel special. David loved his family and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jerry Wright.

David is survived by his devoted wife of 18 years, Paula (nee Dodds) Wright; loving stepdaughter, Holly Moyseenko (James Bruyn); brother Randall Wright (Diane); sister Kathy Wright (James Creachbaum); many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Western Reserve, and special niece, Valerie, for the care and compassion that they provided to David.

Private services are being held for family only. David will be laid to rest in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, OH.
