Dennis J. Long

We mournfully announce the passing of Dennis James Long, age 61, of Kent, Ohio, on Sunday, July 11, 2021. Following a battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. 

After graduating from Kent Roosevelt High School, he went and worked for La Mancusa Auto Body as an Auto Body Mechanic for 22 years. Dennis loved working on vehicles and was very proud of his work.

Dennis was born November 7, 1959, to the late Donna Jean Long. He is survived by his 6 brothers and sisters; Anita Long, Mike Long, Kenny Long (Carol Long), Sarah Long, Kevin Long and Kim Emrick (David Emrick). While Dennis never married, he lived a full and vibrant life with his long-time partner, Billy Jo Mellor and her son Preston Stewart. 

Dennis wished not to have a service. Dennis was the inspiration and creator of the Pepper Fest for 23 years.  Please join us on October 2nd, 2021, at 2:00, at Gougler Park, in a celebration of his life at his 23rd Annual Pepper Fest.
