Dorisolene Hagans

Dorisolene Hagans, age 77, of Kent, died on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Long Meadow Nursing Home.

Dorisolene was born December 10, 1942 in Red Fox, KY to Paris and Clella (Hagans) Hagans.  She was baptized at Cody Bible Church in Red Fox, KY in 1975 and served on the Kitchen Committee and sang in the choir.  She loved baking and cooking especially red velvet cakes and chicken and dumplings.  After moving to Kent, Dorisolene became a member of Union Baptist Church in Kent.  She will be remembered for the smile that she always had no matter where she was going.

She will be greatly missed by her family and many, many, many nieces, nephews and friends.  Her two grandchildren, Lawrence and Latika will surely miss her terribly.  They were not around her much but would talk to her on the phone quite often.  Lawrence was proud to have been able to visit and spend time with her in the summer.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Hagans; daughter, Altheia (Samuel) Hagans Green; grandchildren, Latika Leann Shepherd and Lawrence Allan Shepherd; brother, Jesse K. (Dickie Lynn) Hagans; sisters,  Estella Jones and Mildred R. (Bennie) Hagans Hargro; sisters-in-law, Christine Hagans, Ella Sue Hagans, Ludrenia Sue (Merrel) Hagans-Shepherd, Freda Hagans Williams, Cynthia Hagans, Mary Martha Hagans Beatty, Darlene Hagans and Naomi Hagans; brother-in-law, Cortez Anderson.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hagans; parents, Paris and Clella (Hagans) Hagans; brothers, Bobby L. Hagans, William P. Hagans, John Timothy Hagans Winfred D. Hagans, Orgman H. Hagans, Arvel K. Hagans and Freddie A. Hagans; sisters, Ophelia J. Hagans Collins, Nina J. Hagans Anderson, Anna L. Hagans Clark and Sharon C. Hagans; sisters-in-law, Margie Hagans and Naomia Hagans Williams; brothers-in-law, Clarren Williams, Vynard Hagans.

Calling hours will be held 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Union Baptist Church, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Union Baptist Church with Rev Dr. R.C. Watts officiating.  Services in care of Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 West Main Street, Kent, OH 44240.  Please when attending we ask that safe distance directions be followed and wear protective face masks if possible.
