Frank C. Barnes

Frank C. Barnes (June 13, 1945 – June 8, 2021)

Frank Carlton Barnes passed into eternal rest on June 8, 2021 in the care of Scenic Pointe Nursing in Millersburg, Ohio.

Frank was born to Sherman Barnes and Mildred (Weir) Barnes in Carbondale, IL.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda (LaRocco) Barnes, sisters Sidney G. (Barnes) Wick and Cornelia G. Barnes.

Frank is a 1963 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School, where he played basketball and was an outstanding football player.  Post high-school he attended Kent State University. A devout Christian and lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church in Kent, he was also a fan of literature and sports, especially tennis and the Cleveland Browns.

He enjoyed and was grateful for the counsel and friendship of Dr. Barry Beer, Rev. Julie Blake Fisher, the late Rev. Lloyd O’Keefe, and the staff at Scenic Pointe.

A graveside memorial for Frank will take place on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 10:00AM at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio with Rev. Julie Blake Fisher officiating.   

In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s honor may be sent to Christ Episcopal Church, 118 S. Mantua St., Kent, OH  44240.
