Frederick D. Joy

Frederick D. Joy, age 63, of Atwater, OH, died on Monday, February 3, 2020.

Fred was born March 23, 1956, the son of Rev. Herndon and Imogene (Steele) Joy.  He grew up in Brady Lake, moving to Edinburg Township after marriage to raise his family.

Fred had battled renal disease since 1994. With much help and support from his family, boyhood friends, ROTEK INC., church, the Edinburg community and neighbors, kidney donors T. Reed and daughter Jessie, and his wonderful doctors, he was able to enjoy life for 26 more years.

Fred is survived by his wife of 45 years Debby (Whitacre); son, Jason; daughter, Jessica (Michael) Skilton; cherished grandsons, Shane and Derick Skilton; sisters, Trudy Miller and Lynn (Carl) Koza and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents.
