Gaye Bricker Obituary

Gaye Grimsley Bricker, age 82, of Kent, Ohio, died on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at UH Portage Medical Center.

Gaye, daughter to Lee and Juliet (Barnard) Grimsley. Born February 14, 1939, in Warren, Ohio.

Gaye graduated in 1956 from Bristol High School. In 1960, Gaye graduated from The Ohio State University. Gaye taught for 32 years, 2 years at Black River School District followed by 30 years at Streetsboro High School.

Gaye was very active in her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, in which she held the following offices: 12 years as the Regional Finance Director for Region 4. President of Kent Gamma Phi Beta Alumnae Association for 4 years as well as an international officer of Gamma Phi Beta.

Gaye also spent her retired time advocating dog rescue and held the following offices: Board of Director for National Brittany Rescue (NBRAN), Ohio NBRAN Coordinator.

Gaye was also involved in the additional organizations: Ohio Education Association retired, National Education Association Retired, The Ohio State University Alumnae Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Junior Thursday Literary Club, Member of the Kent United Methodist Church.

Gaye Bricker was an amazing teacher and mom! She was always giving to anyone in need even when she did not have much. Gaye is survived by her daughter, Maren (Timothy) Morgan; grandchildren, Allie (Tyler) Johnson, Austin Morgan, Emma (Aaron) Taylor, and dear friend, Melissa Ander.
