Geraldine Kastner

Geraldine “Ida” Kastner, 95 of Lakewood passed away on January 6, 2021. Geraldine was born on October 22, 1925 in Ligonier, PA to Eskon B. Bowman and Leah Estella Phillippi.

Ida was a hostess and cashier at Kentwood Restaurant for 27 years. She was well known by her customers for her friendliness and smile.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Kent. She was an avid fitness enthusiast with walking in local parks and trails. She loved caring for her home and family. She was known for her baking skills. This gift she passed on to her granddaughter Lindsay. The light of her life was her great granddaughter Zoe, who she was always happy to share pictures of.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ira N. Kastner of 67 years, seven sisters and brothers. She is survived by daughters, Beth (Rev. Sandra Herrmann) Kastner of Milwaukee, WI and Daphine Noel (Donald) Mallory of Cleveland, OH; granddaughter, Lindsay Sawyer (Jackson) Wilson of Atlanta, GA; great granddaughter, Zoe Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Akron Children Children’s Hospital NICU unit. Private family services will be held in Summer of 2021. Inurnment will be in Greenlick, PA. Services in Care of Bissler and Son's Funeral Home.
