Helen Stanton, 93, of Kent, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Crown Center at Laurel Lake. She was born in Cleveland on April 18, 1928 to the late Alexander and Christine (Gracie) Hamilton. Helen attended The Bratenahl School and was a graduate of Shaw High School. She was employed as an administrative assistant at the Kent State School of Journalism and was a faithful member of the Kent Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stanton; her 1st husband Hamilton Schweitzer; daughter Janet McPeake; son John Stanton and granddaughter Maurin McPeake.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (Evan) Morgan; brother Allan Hamilton; son-in-law Steve McPeake; daughter-in-law Erin Stanton; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Brenda), Ethan (Janine), Alexandra (Travis), Daniel (Malia), Evan Jr., and Gracie; seven great grandchildren, Maurin, Harper, Hunter, Colin, Charlotte, Quinn and Bailey.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Kent Presbyterian Church, 1456 E. Summit St. Kent, OH 44240, followed by a funeral service on Saturday at 11:00AM officiated by the Rev. Aaron Meadows. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
