Jack Allen Craig, 71, died on Friday, October 1, 2021, after a more than two year battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was surrounded by his two children and wife of 44 years.
Jack was born on December 9, 1949, and raised in Chesterland, Ohio. He was the first of four sons of Clement and Ellen (Rutledge) Craig. In retirement, Jack enjoyed gardening, taking care of his flowers, taking his two dogs for walks, and spending quality time with his family.
Jack was an amazing father to his two children, who he and his wife happily adopted from El Salvador and South Korea. They were everything to him.
Jack is survived by his wife, Denise Karrer Craig; his children, Jeanne Craig and Jason Craig; two brothers, Robert (Dee) Craig of Huntsburg, Ohio and Daniel (Tracy Weller) Craig of Rocky River, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Craig of Phoenix, Arizona and Mary Craig of Chardon, Ohio; and nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Ellen Craig; brother Gerald Craig and niece Sara.
Calling hours will be held at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240, on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 6:00-8:00PM. Jack’s memorial service will be the next morning, on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10:30AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 118 S. Mantua St. Kent, OH 44240.
