Janice Zekoski (nee Rigle), age 71, was called home to her Lord and Savior on December 17th, 2021. She died peacefully in her sleep at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center after a brief and intense battle with cancer.
Janice was born in Kingston, PA on February 25, 1950. She married Joseph Zekoski and they enjoyed over 49 years of marriage. Throughout her life, Janice served as a Bible Study Fellowship leader and led numerous small group Bible studies. Janice also worked as the head of women’s ministries at her local church and as a Christian family counselor. She prioritized spending time with family and serving the kingdom of God. She loved Jesus and was passionate about sharing the Gospel of His gift of salvation through His death and resurrection.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Fedora Rigle. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Zekoski; daughter, Joy Snyder and her husband, Ryan; son, Joe Zekoski and his wife, Maria; and sisters, Lois Wilson and Lynn Rigle Pfeil. Her truest pride and joy are her four surviving grandchildren, Taylor Zekoski, AJ Snyder, Joseph (Leo) Zekoski, and JP Snyder.
The family will receive friends from 11am-12:30pm on MONDAY December 20th, 2021 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 West Main Street, Kent, OH 44240. Janice’s husband, Joe, will lead a memorial service immediately thereafter. All attendees are kindly requested to wear a mask. Private interment at Foxfield Preserve.
