Jerry Lee Rhoads

On Friday, November 27, 2020, Jerry Lee Rhoads, of Kent, passed away at the age of 67.

Jerry was born on April 29, 1953 in Kent, Ohio to Robert “Bud” Rhoads and Jane Rhoads.

Jerry was always making everyone smile and bringing laughter to a room. When he wasn’t cracking jokes, he could be found flipping houses or restoring old cars. He had a passion for taking something old and making it shiny and new again. Jerry was an incredible backwards roller skater and bicycler. He could out skate or out ride anyone. Jerry was also found coaching soccer, softball, baseball, and basketball for his children and friends. You can’t be a good coach unless you’ve been a good player! He was a fierce pitcher for his community softball team and played pickup volleyball weekly. Jerry had a deep passion for music. He played guitar and sang for his friends and family, blasted mixtapes from the garage, and was a member of the choir. He was a reliable, funny, kind person who was adored by everyone he knew.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Jane; his brothers Steve and Jeff; and his son, Christopher. He is survived by his father, Bud; his sister, Julie; his brothers, Joel, John, and Jamie; his children Joel, Paul, and Collette; and his grandchildren Taylor, Andrew, Ashley, and Joel Jr.

We invite friends & family to gather at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio on October 1st, 2022 at 11:30am for a memorial service to honor Jerry. Pastor Kris Patt will conduct this ceremony.  Following the ceremony, we invite you to join us at Plum Creek Park (590 Plum St, Kent, OH 44240) Shelter #1 to enjoy food! Please bring a dish to share. If you’re unable to bring a dish, there will still be food provided.  Come share memories, tell stories, and join our family while we remember our loved one. We want this day to be filled with love and joy as we reflect on the incredible life of Jerry. In lieu of flowers, please make a tribute gift to the Alzheimer's Association or donate to the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund in Jerry’s name.
