Joan I. (Stanley) Davis

Joan I. Davis, 92, of Kent, OH, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, OH.

She was born July 25, 1929 in Middletown, IN to Daniel Albert and Ina Mae (Bair) Stanley. 

Joan was a store manager for Sperry & Hutchinson Green Stamps.  She was a member of the Lake Brady United Methodist Church.  Joan was a member and Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary #496, Chair of the Child Welfare of Portage County, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War and served as Past President of the Indiana Department, Stow Garden Forum and Past President 1968, Chair of Country Club Hills, IL and volunteered with Welcome Wagon.  She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan, Past Worthy Matron of Grand Rapids, MI #227.  Past President of the International Toastmasters of Country Club Hills, IL.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Lynn (Rick) Phillips of Kent, OH; granddaughter, Cathi Phillips of Kent, OH; granddaughter, Kara Kelham of IN; grandson, William R. Davis of IN; grandson, Jason Baldwin of FL; Seven great grandchildren; sister in law, Joan Stanley, Orlando FL; nephews, Paul C. (Jane) Kissinger of Springfield, OH, Robert C. Stanley of Carthage, TN, Edward L. (Susie) Sands of Huntington, IN, Daniel (Gayle) Stanley of Orlando, FL; special friend, Janice Coburn.  She was preceded in death by her son, William J. Davis; brother, Robert E. Stanley, sisters, Evelyn A. Kissinger, and Maryann Jane Sands; nephew, Stanley Sands; and parents.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home And Crematory with Pastor P. George officiating.  Visitation will be held one-hour prior.  Private Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Brady United Methodist Church, 1995 Brady Lake Road, Brady Lake, OH 44211.
