John M. Chepes

John M. Chepes, 89, formerly of Parkersburg, WV., passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021.  He was born in Kent, OH on December 29, 1931 to the late Michael and Evangeline Chepes.  John proudly served in the United States Navy for four years and later the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years.  He was an active volunteer with CASA children’s services and a member of the VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Woodsman of the World and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonel. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Chepes; his son John Michael Chepes; four brothers and two sisters.

He leaves his sister Maria Murray and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 1:00PM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 2101 23rd St. Parkersburg, WV 26101.
