Jonathan C. Smith

Jonathan C. Smith, 61, of Ravenna, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022.  He was born in Ravenna on November 17, 1960 to the late Robert G. and Lois Smith and was a 1979 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School.  Jon went on to earn his associate degree from The Ohio State University Wooster Campus.  He managed the greenhouse at Oasis for several years then started Jon’s Organic Farm and Produce. Jon sold his produce at the Kent Farmer’s Market and had his goods distributed to Heinen’s Grocery Store.  He was a member of United Methodist Church of Kent and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by his brother Frederick “Rick” Smith.

He leaves his siblings, Kathy (Dave) Blair, Robert E. Smith, David Smith and Peggy Smith.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 10:00AM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00AM-10:00AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
