Joy Konopitski

Joy Konopitski, 64, of Kent, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the Woodland’s at Robinson following an extended illness.  She was born in Ravenna on February 18, 1957 and was a 1975 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School.  Joy went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State University and her Nursing Degree from St. Thomas School of Nursing.

Joy was employed as a registered nurse for several years in Greenville, South Carolina.  She returned to the Kent area and worked a few jobs before finding her home at Mantaline Company in Mantua, where she was currently employed.

She was a member of a bowling league and enjoyed cross stich, crossword puzzles and casinos.

Joy was preceded in death by her mother May Konopitski and her sisters, Susan Konopitski and Carol McGee.

She leaves her father Leonard Konopitski; brother Lenny Konopitski and sisters, Kathy Wolfe, Linda Konopitski and Mary Stoneking.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Fr. Richard Pentello officiating. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
